Hayes' hat trick boosts Boch Blazers over New York Apple Core, 8-1

Patrick Hayes netted a hat trick to lead Boch Blazers over New York Apple Core, 8-1.

Hayes' first goal came 4:05 into the second period. He then added goals at 6:10 into the second and at 13:00 into the third.

The win gave Boch Blazers a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Boch Blazers led by only one goal at the end of the first period, but put the game away by scoring three goals in the second.

New York Apple Core's 10 penalties came back to haunt it, as New York Apple Core let up four goals while on the penalty kill.

Boch Blazers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Boch Blazers additionally got points from Emilio Botelho, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Colin Cordeiro, who also registered one goal and three assists, and Adam Lewis, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Boch Blazers also got a goal from Sidney Thomas as well. In addition, Boch Blazers received assists from Jacob Dyl, who had two and Kurtis Garcia and Joseph Fernandes, who contributed one a piece.

Cody Stocker recorded 24 saves for Boch Blazers. Boch Blazers incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. New York Apple Core's Madison Martin stopped 20 shots out of the 28 that he faced. New York Apple Core ended with 33 minutes in penalty time with nine minors and one major. New York Apple Core ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and James Delahanty was ejected from the game.
