St. Thomas Academy completes comeback, beats Hermantown, 5-4Xcel Energy Center Sat, Mar 09, 2013
The St. Thomas Academy Cadets rallied from two goals down to secure a 5-4 win over the Hermantown Hawks. St. Thomas Academy let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The Cadets took a 1-0 advantage on a goal by Matt Perry at 15:12 in the first period. St. Thomas Academy went down 4-2 after Hermantown's Lane LeGarde put the puck home at 15:44 in the second period. After knotting things up at 4-4 on a goal by Henry Hart at 9:05 in the third, the Cadets got the game-winner from Tom Novak at 16:54 in the third period.
St. Thomas Academy also got points from Hart, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, St. Thomas Academy received assists from Wyatt Schmidt, Austin Sattler, and Dan McManus, who contributed one a piece and Jack Stang and Gunnar Regan, who each chipped in two. Hermantown additionally got points from Ryan Kero, who also registered one goal and one assist. Hermantown also got a goal from Chris Benson as well. More assists for Hermantown came via Neal Pionk, who had two and Joe Muehlbauer, Bo Gronseth, and Zach Kramer, who contributed one a piece. David Zevnik made 18 saves for the Cadets on 22 shots. St. Thomas Academy incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Adam Smith rejected 15 shots on goal for the Hawks. Hermantown incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. |
