St. Thomas Academy takes care of St. Cloud Apollo early, wins 12-0

The St. Cloud Apollo Eagles fell behind early, and the St. Thomas Academy Cadets kept piling on the points on the way to a 12-0 victory.

 

Matt Perry had a great game for the Cadets, netting two goals. Perry scored at 3:42 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Thomas Academy and again while 3:27 into the third to make the score 10-0 St. Thomas Academy.

St. Cloud Apollo was unable to stop St. Thomas Academy from sending pucks towards the net, and the Cadets eventually piled up 50 shots on goal. St. Thomas Academy did not rack up many penalties in the contest, racking up just one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

St. Thomas Academy additionally got points from Wyatt Schmidt, who also registered one goal and one assist, Jack Stang, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Jake Geiser, who also registered one goal and one assist, Peter Tufto, who also had one goal and three assists, Henry Hart, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Austin Sattler, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Alec Broetzman, who also registered two goals and one assist. St. Thomas Academy also got a goal from Alex Johnson as well. In addition, St. Thomas Academy received assists from Tom Novak, who had two, Jack Dougherty, who had four, and Tony Bretzman, Gunnar Regan, Seamus Donohue, Christiano Versich, and Dan McManus, who contributed one a piece.

The Eagles did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting three shots on net to force three saves.

St. Cloud Apollo was led by Jordan Keller, who took one shot.

The Cadets took out Conor Murphy after he had made two saves and installed David Zevnik in goal, where he finished with one save and the win. St. Thomas Academy registered two goals on four power play opportunities. Nick Althaus made 38 saves for the Eagles on 50 shots. St. Cloud Apollo incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
