Alliston's Board deadly on offense in 6-3 win against Midland

The Alliston Hornets relied on the scoring touch of Drake Board, who netted two goals, to beat the Midland Flyers, 6-3.

Board's tallies came at 8:20 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Alliston and 13:39 into the second to make the score 4-1 Alliston.

The win by Alliston clinched the best of seven series at 4-1.

The Hornets were ineffective while on the power play, as they were held to two goals off of 10 man advantages.

Alliston also got points from Andre Lessard, who also registered one goal and one assist, David Leblanc, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Mark ODonnell, who also had one goal and one assist, and Mike Campeau, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Alliston received assists from Alex Daley, who had one and Dakota Brooks, who had two.

Midland was helped by Tyson Clark, who grabbed two goals. Clark scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 9:35 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Alliston. A roughing penalty on Nic Archibald had put the Flyers on the power play. Zach Leduc assisted on the tally. Clark's next tally on the power play made the score 5-2 Alliston with 2:10 left in the second period. Leduc provided the assist. Midland additionally got points from Jason Leigh, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Midland were Jonathan Goldsworthy, who had one.

Tyler Brindle recorded 26 saves for Alliston. The Hornets incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Connor Akins made 23 saves for Midland on 29 shots. The Flyers incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
