The Alliston Hornets used a sparkling performance by Robbie Alsop to take down the Midland Flyers, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Alliston's 6-0 shutout victory.

The win gave the Hornets a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Mike Campeau was all over the ice for Alliston, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Campeau scored the first of his two goals at 3:56 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Alliston. Zack Byblow assisted on the tally. Campeau's next tally made the score 5-0 Alliston with 19:31 left in the third period. David Leblanc picked up the assist.

The Hornets excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances.

Alliston also got points from Leblanc, who also tallied one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Alliston also got a goal from Drake Board as well. In addition, Alliston received assists from Brett Banks, Randy Cox, Tanner Dockerty, Alex Daley, and Bobby Sloan, who contributed one a piece.

Alsop rejected 27 shots on goal for Alliston. The Hornets incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Marco Colangelo recorded 22 saves for Midland. The Flyers incurred 36 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
