 North Iowa downs Granite City in overtime, 3-2 (OT)Fox Valley NHL Rink    Fri, Mar 29, 2013 Story by Narrative Science. 
The North Iowa Bulls pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Granite City Lumberjacks on a clutch goal by Bobby Chapman. The win gave North Iowa a 1-0 lead in the best of one series. The Bulls were paced by Chapman, who tallied one goal. Chapman scored 2:50 into overtime to make the score 3-2 North Iowa. Bryan Broders assisted on the tally. North Iowa forced Granite City goalie Scott Murray to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots. North Iowa additionally got points from Broders, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Patrick Sivets also scored for North Iowa. Other players who recorded assists for North Iowa were McFarlanne B, Jake Johnson, Kyle Krueger, Conor Jonasson, and Taylor Brown, who contributed one a piece. The Lumberjacks stifled the Bulls' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Granite City's offense rang up 33 shots on North Iowa's net. The Lumberjacks were helped by Drew Otto, who grabbed one goal. Otto scored on the power play 18:47 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Granite City had gotten the advantage when the Bulls' Connor Langfield was sent off for cross checking. Aidan Verbeke picked up the assist. Granite City also got a goal from Brett Love as well. More assists for Granite City came via Blayne Ellson, who had one. Matthew Bartels rejected 31 shots on goal for North Iowa. The Bulls incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Scott Murray made 42 saves for the Lumberjacks on 45 shots. Granite City incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
