 Granite City beats Flint 5-2 as Storch gets hat trickFox Valley NHL Rink    Thu, Mar 28, 2013 Story by Narrative Science. A hat trick by Aaron Storch was the highlight in Lumberjacks' 5-2 win against the Flint Jr. Generals.Storch's first goal came 2:05 into the first period. He then added goals at 9:34 into the first and at 9:37 into the third. The win gave the Granite City Lumberjacks a 1-0 lead in the best of one series. Granite City stifled Flint's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Lumberjacks' offense rang up 41 shots on the Jr. Generals' net. Granite City also got a goal from Lucas Debenedet as well. In addition, Granite City received assists from Roy Grandov, who had two, Mitch Humphries, who had three, and Blayne Ellson and Drew Otto, who contributed one a piece. Flint's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Granite City power plays. The Jr. Generals were helped by Nicholas Gnagni, who racked up one goal. Gnagni scored 12:38 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Granite City. Zachery Hill picked up the assist. Edward Osowski also scored for Flint. Other players who recorded assists for Flint were Ian Teal, who had one. Scott Murray rejected 24 shots on goal for Granite City. The Lumberjacks incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Ted Barile recorded 36 saves for Flint. The Jr. Generals incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
