Florida Junior Blades outlasts South Shore, 4-3

Florida Junior Blades and the South Shore Kings were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Florida Junior Blades made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-3.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Chaise Howard's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

The win gave Florida Junior Blades a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Jonathan Davidson had a great game for Florida Junior Blades, netting two goals. Davidson scored at 1:10 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Florida Junior Blades and again while 17:12 into the first to make the score 2-1 Florida Junior Blades.

Florida Junior Blades' offense rang up 32 shots on South Shore's net.

Daniel Thompson also scored for Florida Junior Blades. More assists for Florida Junior Blades came via Max Cobb and Joshua Koerner, who contributed one a piece and Matt Benolkin and Austin Hefferin, who each chipped in two.

The Kings were helped by Evan Jacques, who had one goal. Jacques scored on the power play 16:38 into the second period to make the score 3-2 South Shore. South Shore had taken the advantage when Florida Junior Blades' Michael Haskins got sent off for roughing. Arturs Buss assisted on the tally. South Shore also got points from Nicholas Bertoni, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. South Shore also got a goal from Stephen Rocchio as well. In addition, South Shore received assists from Paul Wagner, who had one.

Eric Sugrue rejected 26 shots on goal for Florida Junior Blades. Florida Junior Blades incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Kings' Kory LeBlanc stopped 28 shots out of the 32 that he faced. South Shore incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
