Huge game by Tracy boosts New Hampshire over Syracuse, 7-1

Shane Tracy was all over the ice for the New Hampshire Jr Monarchs, as he tallied one goal and three assists in New Hampshire's 7-1 win over the Syracuse Junior Stars.

Tracy scored 1:51 into the first period to make the score 1-0 New Hampshire. Ross Mandigo picked up the assist. Tracy dished an assist on Mandigo's goal that made the score 2-0 New Hampshire at 14:52 into the first period. He then added assists on Mandigo's goal at 15:56 into the first and on Brent Beaudoin's goal at 19:07 into the second.

The win gave the Jr Monarchs a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

New Hampshire forced Syracuse's goalies to work between the pipes, launching 51 shots and forcing 44 saves. Nate Skidmore made 23 stops and Matt Schneider made 21. The Jr Monarchs stifled the Junior Stars' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

New Hampshire also got points from Mandigo, who also racked up two goals and one assist and Beaudoin, who also tallied two goals and one assist. New Hampshire also got a goal from Davis Algra as well. Other players who recorded assists for New Hampshire were Eric Grover, Nate OBrien, Brendan Tazumi, and Stephen Wolf, who contributed one a piece.

Syracuse's offense was handcuffed by New Hampshire's defensive play, and the Junior Stars managed only 14 shots on goal during the game.

Dylan Palmer recorded 13 saves for the Jr Monarchs. New Hampshire incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Syracuse incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
