Connor's goals lift Philadelphia to 3-1 victory over Maksymum

The Philadelphia Revolution relied on the scoring touch of Chris Connor, who netted two goals, to beat the Maksymum Junior Hockey (Rochester), 3-1.

Connor's tallies came at 10:27 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Philadelphia and on the power play 14:45 into the second to make the score 3-1 Philadelphia.

The win gave Philadelphia a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

The Revolution were led by goalie Jared Burch, who finished with 33 saves while allowing one goal. Despite the solid performance, Burch will actually see his goals against average rise, as it stood at 1.0 entering the contest.

Philadelphia excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Revolution forced Maksymum goalie Ian Sylves to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Philadelphia also got a goal from Alex Dyer as well. In addition, Philadelphia received assists from Travis Kauffman, who had two and Connor Bechtel and Justin Goldstein, who each chipped in one.

The Junior Hockey (Rochester)'s offense rang up 34 shots on Philadelphia's net.

Maksymum was led by Thomas Grammatico, who scored the team's only goal. Grammatico scored 2:24 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Seth Giles provided the assist.

The Revolution incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Sylves rejected 32 shots on goal for the Junior Hockey (Rochester). Maksymum ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major.
