A stellar performance between the pipes by Brooke Gibson helped BLUEWATER defeat CAMBRIDGE, 2-1.

The win gave BLUEWATER a 1-0 lead in the best of five series.

BLUEWATER was led by Lauren Lefler, who racked up one goal and one assist. Lefler scored 14:33 into the second period to make the score 2-1 BLUEWATER. Sydney Dobbin assisted on the tally.

BLUEWATER excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Jessica Wakefield also scored for BLUEWATER. More assists for BLUEWATER came via Taylor Philip, who had one.

CAMBRIDGE's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three BLUEWATER power plays. CAMBRIDGE's offense rang up 34 shots on BLUEWATER's net.

CAMBRIDGE was led by Rebecca Haddaway, who scored the team's only goal. Haddaway scored 11:13 into the second period to make the score 1-0 CAMBRIDGE. Alex Makaric provided the assist.

Gibson rejected 33 shots on goal for BLUEWATER. BLUEWATER incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Jenna Sosnoski made 28 saves for CAMBRIDGE on 30 shots. CAMBRIDGE incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
