Recchia's hat trick boosts Grimsby over Glanbrook, 6-3

Richard Recchia netted a hat trick to lead the Grimsby Peach Kings over the Glanbrook Rangers, 6-3.

Recchia got on the scoresheet 9:05 into the first period. He then added goals at 14:06 into the third and at 19:36 into the third.

The win gave Grimsby a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Peach Kings forced Glanbrook goalie Matt Sagrott to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots.

Others who scored for Grimsby included Robert Wormald, who had one and Stuart Isnor, who had two. Other players who recorded assists for Grimsby were Daniel Paonessa, who had two, Jacob Tuck, who had three, and Colin Isnor, Anthony Pullia, William Marlow, Daulton Procyshn, Mathew Paonessa, and Jordan McCarl, who each chipped in one.

The Rangers were helped by Chad Edwards, who tallied one goal. Edwards scored 7:26 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Cal Smith assisted on the tally. Glanbrook also got a goal from Joel Knight as well. More assists for Glanbrook came via Jake Hill, who had two and Alexander Cappelletti, Curtis Edwards, and Anthony Sanelli, who contributed one a piece.

Grimsby's Jeremy Currie stopped 22 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Peach Kings incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Matt Sagrott made 38 saves for Glanbrook on 43 shots. The Rangers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
