Huge game by Sly boosts TORONTO over ETOBICOKE, 6-2

Morgan Sly had one goal and three assists to lead TORONTO to a 6-2 victory over ETOBICOKE.

Sly beat Amanda Smith with a shot 13:08 into the second period to make the score 3-2 TORONTO. Brooke Webster provided the assist. Sly dished an assist on Emma Korbs's goal that made the score 2-1 ETOBICOKE at 4:08 into the second period. He then added assists on Emma Greco's goal at 14 seconds into the third and on Devon Moir's goal at 1:25 into the third.

The win gave TORONTO a 1-0 lead in the best of five series.

ETOBICOKE's power play was ineffective against TORONTO's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

ETOBICOKE was unable to stop TORONTO from sending pucks towards the net, and TORONTO eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.

TORONTO additionally got points from Moir, who also registered one goal and one assist and Webster, who also had one goal and five assists to lead the team in points. In addition, TORONTO received assists from Morgan Kelly and Victoria Andreakos, who each chipped in one.

ETOBICOKE was helped by Stacy Joe, who racked up one goal. Joe scored 2:25 into the first period to make the score 1-0 ETOBICOKE. Jennifer Thompson assisted on the tally. ETOBICOKE also got a goal from Megan Farrell as well. Other players who recorded assists for ETOBICOKE were Shannon Whitaker, Shana Walker, and Cara Sayles, who contributed one a piece.

TORONTO's Liberty McKague stopped 16 shots out of the 18 that she faced. TORONTO incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Amanda Smith made 30 saves for ETOBICOKE on 36 shots. ETOBICOKE incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
