Bloomington Blaze uses big second period to beat G L Lightning, 10-3

G L Lightning was within striking distance after one period, but Bloomington Blaze put the pedal down in the second en route to a 10-3 victory.

Joseph Clemente was all over the ice for Bloomington Blaze, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Clemente scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 7:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bloomington Blaze. A holding penalty on Austin Postek had put Bloomington Blaze on the power play. Anton Thompson picked up the assist. Clemente's next tally on the power play made the score 4-0 Bloomington Blaze with 12:47 left in the second period. Bloomington Blaze had gained a power play chance when Jacob Bradley was whistled for tripping. Patrick Anaruk provided the assist.

Bloomington Blaze racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with six minors and two majors for 32 minutes in penalty time. More assists for G L Lightning came via Andrew Defauw, who had one.

Travus McDonald recorded 23 saves for Bloomington Blaze. Bloomington Blaze registered three goals on six power play opportunities.
