John Carpino gave the North York Rangers the lead in the first period, and the Oakville Blades was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 2-0. North York took over the lead for good with a goal by Carpino at 4:34 in the first period. Michael Giacometti provided the assist.After the loss made the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series, Oakville faces elimination next time out. Jason Pucciarelli frustrated the Blades' offense all game, and stopped 35 shots en route to a shutout. The solid play of Pucciarelli will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.62. The Rangers were led by Carpino, who finished with one goal. North York excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Rangers forced Oakville goalie Evan Buitenhuis to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. North York also got a goal from Liam Kerins as well. Other players who recorded assists for North York were Patrick Piacentini, Valadao Adam, and Corey Kalk, who each chipped in one. North York was unable to stop the Blades from sending pucks towards the net, and Oakville eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. The Rangers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Buitenhuis rejected 39 shots on goal for the Blades. Oakville incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
