North York falls to Oakville in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Oakville Blades' Nathan Renouf scored 1:48 into overtime to beat the North York Rangers, 4-3 (OT).

With the win, Oakville evened the series at 2-2 in the best of seven showdown.

The Blades overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Oakville was down 3-1 after a goal by North York's Valadao Adam at 7:48 in the second period. The Blades tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Rory Bell at 2:43 in the third period.

Oakville pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 14 penalty minutes.

Oakville also got points from Harrison Domagala, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Oakville also got a goal from Patrick Chore as well. More assists for Oakville came via Aidan Orbinski, Jonah Renouf, Eric Chore, and Kyle Jenkins, who contributed one a piece.

The Rangers made Blades' netminders to work between the pipes, totaling 35 shots and forcing 32 saves. Evan Buitenhuis made 32 stops and Spencer Bacon made zero. North York put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Blades to score on any of their four power plays.

The Rangers were helped by Corey Kalk, who finished with two goals and one assist. Kalk scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 15:15 into the first period to make the score 1-1. North York had gotten the advantage when Oakville's Greg Campbell was sent off for cross checking. John Carpino provided the assist. Kalk's next tally on the power play made the score 2-1 North York with 15:33 left in the second period. Carpino picked up the assist. North York additionally got points from Adam, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, North York received assists from Patrick Piacentini, who had one.

Jason Pucciarelli made 24 saves for the Rangers on 28 shots. North York incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
