North York downs Oakville, 5-2

Liam Kerins racked up two points to lead the North York Rangers to a 5-2 victory over the Oakville Blades.

The win by North York broke a deadlock and gave the Rangers a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series.

North York additionally got points from Corey Kalk, who also registered one goal and two assists and John Carpino, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Valadao Adam also scored for North York. In addition, North York received assists from Fung Zachary, Ryan Kinsella, Dana Tenenbaum, Michael Giacometti, and Matthew Whittaker, who contributed one a piece.

Oakville was helped by Rory Bell, who had one goal. Bell scored on the power play 13:03 into the second period to make the score 1-1. A cross checking penalty on Power Brody had put the Blades on the power play. Stefan Leblanc picked up the assist. Oakville also got a goal from Patrick Chore as well. More assists for Oakville came via Harrison Domagala, who had two.

Jason Pucciarelli recorded 24 saves for North York. The Rangers incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. North York ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Galli Austin was ejected from the game. Evan Buitenhuis made 25 saves for Oakville on 30 shots. The Blades incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
