AURORA wins tough contest against NEPEAN, 3-2

AURORA gutted out a close 3-2 win against NEPEAN.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Kayla Jardine's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

The win by AURORA clinched the best of five series at 3-1.

AURORA was led by Jardine, who grabbed one goal. Jardine scored 7:50 into the third period to make the score 3-2 AURORA. Maddison Lee assisted on the tally.

AURORA did not rack up many penalties in the contest, finishing with only one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

Ashley Rothon also scored for AURORA. Other players who recorded assists for AURORA were Alie Brindamour-McClure(A), Lisa Donachey, and Christina Ieradi, who each chipped in one.

NEPEAN was helped by Lauren Miller, who racked up one goal. Miller scored 7:22 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Mackenzie Stone provided the assist. NEPEAN also got a goal from Katryne Villeneuve as well. In addition, NEPEAN received assists from Sam Cogan, Lindsay Eastwood, and Myfanwy Thomson, who contributed one a piece.

Paula Voorheis rejected 20 shots on goal for AURORA. AURORA registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Makayla Campbell recorded 24 saves for NEPEAN. NEPEAN incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
