Lambton Shores squeaks by Chatham, 3-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Lambton Shores Predators escaped with a 3-2 victory over the Chatham Maroons.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Nick Sproveiro secured the win for Lambton Shores with a goal in the third period.

With the win, the Predators evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown.

Lambton Shores was led by Sproveiro, who racked up one goal. Sproveiro scored 16:12 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Lambton Shores. Ryan Rontondi assisted on the tally.

The Predators excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Lambton Shores forced Chatham goalie Darien Ekblad to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

Lambton Shores also got points from Kyle Brothers, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Ferdinando Colella also scored for Lambton Shores. In addition, Lambton Shores received assists from Jim McKinlay and Adam Arseneault, who each chipped in one.

The Maroons kept the Predators' goalie busy throughout the game, and Brandon Campbell made 36 saves on 38 shots.

Chatham was helped by Brennan Feasey, who tallied one goal. Feasey scored 5:58 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Ian Faubert picked up the assist. Chatham also got a goal from Sean Myers as well. Other players who recorded assists for Chatham were Trevor Richardson, Brayden Hopkins, and Blake Blondeel, who contributed one a piece.

Lambton Shores incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. Darien Ekblad made 33 saves for the Maroons on 36 shots. Chatham incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
