Alexandria rolls over Breezy Point, 4-0

The Alexandria Blizzard had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-0 win over the Breezy Point North Stars.

Breezy Point's power play was ineffective against Alexandria's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Blizzard were led by Ian Eckland, who finished with one goal and one assist. Eckland scored 7:51 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Alexandria. Karson Kuntz assisted on the tally.

Alexandria's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Breezy Point power plays. The Blizzard was steadier on the defensive front than they have been for much of this season. Alexandria averages 2.3 goals allowed per game. The Blizzard kept the North Stars' goalie busy throughout the game, and Ian Shidlofsky made 33 saves on 37 shots. Alexandria got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Alexandria also got points from Kuntz, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Alexandria also got a goal from Will Becker as well. In addition, Alexandria received assists from Austin Rudnick, who had one and Garrett Skinner and Tom Schmidt, who each chipped in two.

Sam Goetsch recorded 16 saves for the Blizzard. Alexandria totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 2-for-7 on the power play. Breezy Point ended with 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major.
