Listowel squeaks by Kitchener, 3-2Kinsmen Arena Wed, Mar 06, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Listowel Cyclones escaped with a 3-2 victory over the Kitchener Dutchmen. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Patrick Bell secured the win for Listowel with a goal in the third period. After the loss made the series score 2-3 in the best of seven series, Kitchener faces elimination next time out. The Cyclones got the win behind a great game by Bell, who had one goal and two assists. Bell scored 19:43 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Listowel. Caleb Cameron assisted on the tally. Listowel kept the Dutchmen's goalie busy throughout the game, and Marc Williams made 35 saves on 38 shots. Listowel additionally got points from Cameron, who also had two goals and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Listowel were Jacob Robitaille, who had one. Kitchener forced the Cyclones goalie Drew Reinhardt to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. The Dutchmen were helped by Brett Clampitt, who racked up one goal. Clampitt scored 9:54 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Keegan Calder picked up the assist. Kitchener also got a goal from Philip Moser as well. More assists for Kitchener came via Harrison Scarfonne, Clayton Greer, and Tyler Hoffman, who each chipped in one. Listowel's Reinhardt stopped 32 shots out of the 34 that he faced. The Cyclones incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Kitchener incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. |
