Huge game by Grant boosts Kitchener over Listowel, 5-1

Keli Grant was all over the ice for the Kitchener Dutchmen, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Kitchener's 5-1 win over the Listowel Cyclones.

Grant scored at 14:07 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Kitchener and again while 5:55 into the third to make the score 4-1 Kitchener.

The win by the Dutchmen broke a deadlock and gave Kitchener a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series.

The Dutchmen were led by goalie Marc Williams, who finished with 34 saves while allowing one goal. Williams managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.13 prior to the game.

Kitchener's offense rang up 34 shots on Listowel's net. Team could not crack the Cyclones' penalty kill and was held to one power play goal while having nine opportunities to play with the man advantage.

Kitchener also got points from Matt Guild, who also registered one goal and one assist. Kitchener also got a goal from Brett Clampitt as well. More assists for Kitchener came via Jesse Young, Logan Schmidt (APM), Keegan Calder, Ryo Kobayashi, and Dylan Bursey, who contributed one a piece.

Listowel's offense rang up 35 shots on the Dutchmen's net.

The Cyclones were led by Sam Feagan, who scored the team's only goal. Feagan scored on the power play 10:48 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Listowel. Listowel had taken the advantage when Kitchener's Jordan Delaurier got sent off for roughing. Jesse Parker assisted on the tally.

The Dutchmen incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Cyclones' Drew Reinhardt stopped 29 shots out of the 34 that he faced. Listowel incurred 36 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
