Brampton wins tough contest against Caledonia, 4-2Powerade Centre Mon, Mar 04, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Brampton Bombers gutted out a close 4-2 win against the Caledonia Corvairs. Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Nik Borschevsky's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker. The win moved Brampton to down 2-1 in the best of seven series. The Bombers were sparked by Borschevsky, who registered one goal. Borschevsky scored 9:06 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Brampton. Brampton's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Caledonia power plays. Caledonia was unable to stop the Bombers from sending pucks towards the net, and Brampton eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. Brampton additionally got points from Jacob Hanlon, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Michael Darrigo, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Brampton also got a goal from Phil Caputo as well. More assists for Brampton came via Brady Clouthier, who had two. The Corvairs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Caledonia forced the Bombers goalie Bryan Raymond to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots. The Corvairs were helped by Tyler Norrie, who had one goal. Norrie scored 5:24 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Caledonia. Adam Brady provided the assist. Caledonia also got points from Jeff Swift, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Caledonia were Matt Quilty, who had one. Bryan Raymond made 33 saves for Brampton on 35 shots. The Bombers incurred 42 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Justis Husak rejected 27 shots on goal for Caledonia. The Corvairs incurred 34 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
