Leamington holds on for 3-2 win against Sarnia

The Sarnia Legionnaires tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Leamington Flyers held on for a 3-2 victory.

A goal by Alex Seguin put Leamington up 3-1 in the third period, but Sarnia pulled to within one on Bobby King's tally 15:09 into the third period.

The win by the Flyers broke a deadlock and gave Leamington a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series.

The Flyers were led by Seguin, who had one goal and one assist. Seguin scored 14:06 into the third period to make the score Leamington. J.P. Grineau picked up the assist.

Leamington forced the Legionnaires goalie Sean Parker to work between the pipes, taking 50 shots.

Leamington also got points from Myles Doan, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Mitchell Amante also scored for Leamington. More assists for Leamington came via Kyle Shaw and Donnie Nagle, who contributed one a piece.

Sarnia additionally got points from Jason Teschke, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Sarnia received assists from Steve Farlow and Brent Sauve, who each chipped in one.

The Flyers' Matt Mancina stopped 19 shots out of the 21 that he faced. Leamington incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Sean Parker made 47 saves for Sarnia on 50 shots. The Legionnaires incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
