Lindsay outlasts Aurora, 4-2

The Lindsay Muskies and the Aurora Tigers were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Lindsay made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Dean Klomp's goal in the second period proved to be the difference maker.

After the loss made the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series, Aurora faces elimination next time out.

The Muskies were sparked by Klomp, who finished with one goal and one assist. Klomp scored 16:13 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Lindsay. Matt McCartney picked up the assist.

Lindsay put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Tigers to score on any of their three power plays.

Lindsay also got points from Patrick Thornton, who also registered one goal and one assist and Vince Herlihey, who also had one goal and one assist. Lindsay also got a goal from Dylan Fitze as well. In addition, Lindsay received assists from Corey Jackson, who had one.

Aurora excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Muskies were unable to stop the Tigers from sending pucks towards the net, and Aurora eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

The Tigers were led by Adam DiBrina, who grabbed one goal and one assist. DiBrina scored 15:24 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Aurora. Daniel Clairmont assisted on the tally. Michael Keenan also scored for Aurora.

Tanner Davis rejected 31 shots on goal for Lindsay. The Muskies incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Kevin Entmaa made 26 saves for Aurora on 29 shots. The Tigers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
