Lindsay rolls over Aurora, 4-1

Lindsay Recreation Centre    Thu, Feb 28, 2013

The Lindsay Muskies had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over the Aurora Tigers.

With the win, Lindsay evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown.

The Muskies' Tanner Davis was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 31 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Davis will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.03.

Lindsay's penalty kill excelled, as the Muskies gave up zero goals despite allowing eight power plays.

Lindsay stifled Aurora's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Tigers were unable to stop the Muskies from sending pucks towards the net, and Lindsay eventually piled up 45 shots on goal.

The Muskies were helped by William Pelletier, who registered one goal. Pelletier scored 11:01 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Lindsay. Dean Klomp picked up the assist. Lindsay also got a goal from Felix Chamberland as well. In addition, Lindsay received assists from Vince Herlihey and Dylan Fitze, who contributed one a piece.

Aurora's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on nine Lindsay power plays. The Tigers' offense rang up 32 shots on Lindsay's net.

Aurora was led by Matt Andreacchi, who scored the team's only goal. Andreacchi scored 11:07 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Lindsay. Michael Keenan assisted on the tally.

The Muskies incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. The Tigers' Kevin Entmaa stopped 41 shots out of the 45 that he faced. Aurora incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
