LONDON tried its best to erase a two-goal deficit, but WHITBY would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 2-1.

WHITBY made the score 2-0 on a goal by Krista Yip-Chuck at 43 seconds in the third period, and LONDON got as close as 2-1 when Clare McKellar scored 7:50 into the third period.

The win gave WHITBY a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

WHITBY's penalty kill excelled, as WHITBY gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

WHITBY also got points from Nicole Martindale, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, WHITBY received assists from Rhyen McGill, Alex Moore, and Hanna Bunton, who contributed one a piece.

More assists for LONDON came via Molly Sipprell and Mariah-Leigh Fell, who each chipped in one.

Marissa Kozovski rejected 23 shots on goal for WHITBY. WHITBY incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Jessica Dodds recorded 24 saves for LONDON. LONDON incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
