The Totino-Grace Eagles had trouble finding ways to stop the St. Thomas Academy Cadets, which beat Eagles, 3-0.

The Cadets were sparked by Christiano Versich, who tallied one goal. Versich scored 1:33 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Thomas Academy. Alex Johnson picked up the assist.

St. Thomas Academy forced Totino-Grace goalie Michael Larson to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. The Cadets did not rack up many penalties in the contest, registering a minimal one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

St. Thomas Academy also got points from Tom Novak, who also had one goal and one assist and Johnson, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. More assists for St. Thomas Academy came via Tony Bretzman and Jack Stang, who contributed one a piece.

St. Thomas Academy's David Zevnik stopped 18 shots out of the 18 that he faced. The Cadets registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities. Larson rejected 36 shots on goal for the Eagles. Totino-Grace finished the contest with no penalties and went 0-for-1 with the man advantage.

With the shutout victory the Cadets get an opportunity for a 3-Peat as Class A State Champions as they return to the "X" for next weeks' state tourney.
