Snodgrass leads Eastview over Eagan, 4-1
John Snodgrass had two goals and one assist to lead the Eastview Lightning to a 4-1 victory over the Eagan Wildcats.Snodgrass scored at 9:49 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Eastview and again while 6:54 into the third to make the score 4-1 Eastview.
Eagan was stymied by the Lightning netminder Zachary Driscoll, who stopped 34 shots during the victory. Despite the solid performance, Driscoll will actually see his goals against average rise, as it stood at 0.39 entering the contest.
Eastview put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Wildcats to score on any of their four power plays. The Lightning forced Eagan goalie Andrew Lindgren to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.
Eastview additionally got points from Cole Cooper, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Jake McGlocklin, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Eastview received assists from Pierce Erickson, who had two and Ryan McNamara and Mitch Beattie, who contributed one a piece.
The Wildcats excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Eagan's offense rang up 35 shots on Eastview's net.
The Lightning incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Andrew Lindgren made 33 saves for Eagan on 37 shots. The Wildcats incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
With this win the Lightning will now move on to the Xcel Energy Center and represent Sect 3AA in this years' Class AA State Tourney.
