Huge game by Loew boosts Eagan over Park of Cottage Grove, 5-0

Josh Loew had two goals and two assists to lead the Eagan Wildcats to a 5-0 victory over the Park of Cottage Grove Wolfpack.

Loew scored at 4:51 into the second period to make the score 3-0 Eagan and again while 9:24 into the second to make the score 4-0 Eagan.

The win gave Eagan a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Park of Cottage Grove's power play was ineffective against the Wildcats' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Eagan's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Park of Cottage Grove power plays. The Wolfpack were unable to stop the Wildcats from sending pucks towards the net, and Eagan eventually piled up 48 shots on goal.

Eagan additionally got points from Tommy Muck, who also registered one goal and one assist and Jack Jenson, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Eagan also got a goal from Kyle Stebbing as well. Other players who recorded assists for Eagan were Jesse Gabrielle, who had four and Max Elsenheimer and Jonathan Estes, who each chipped in one.

Park of Cottage Grove stifled the Wildcats' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Eagan's Andrew Lindgren stopped 21 shots out of the 21 that he faced. The Wildcats incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. Kyle Strand made 43 saves for the Wolfpack on 48 shots. Park of Cottage Grove incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors.
