Centennial outlasts Champlin Park, 4-2

The game between the Centennial Cougars and the Champlin Park Rebels was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Centennial emerged with a 4-2 win.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Kenny Sinna at 8:34 of the second period.

The win gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Ryner Gorowsky was all over the ice for Centennial, as he racked up two goals in the win. Gorowsky's tallies came on the power play at 12:45 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Centennial and on the power play 7:39 into the third to make the score 3-1 Centennial.

Champlin Park was unable to stop the Cougars from sending pucks towards the net, and Centennial eventually piled up 45 shots on goal. The Cougars took advantage of the Rebels' penalties, tallying three goals off of four power play opportunities.

Andrew Bertrand also scored for Centennial. In addition, Centennial received assists from Colton Berg, who had one, Adam Anderson, who had two, and Hans Gorowsky, who had three.

Champlin Park was helped by Scott Lessard, who tallied one goal. Lessard scored on the power play 6:53 into the second period to make the score 1-1. The Rebels had gained a power play chance when Will Juergens was whistled for hooking. Bryce Plunkett assisted on the tally. Champlin Park also got points from Luke Dahlman, who also registered one goal and one assist.

Patrick Munson recorded 26 saves for Centennial. The Cougars incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Tyler Nelson made 41 saves for Champlin Park on 45 shots. The Rebels incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
