Roseau beats Buffalo 10-2 as Bjugson gets hat trick

Cole Bjugson netted a hat trick to lead the Roseau Rams over the Buffalo Bison, 10-2.

Bjugson's first goal came 7:30 into the first period. He then added goals at 10:17 into the first and at 4:00 into the third.

The win gave Roseau a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Buffalo was unable to stop the Rams from sending pucks towards the net, and Roseau eventually piled up 44 shots on goal. The defensemen of the Rams were also effective in the Bison's zone, and came away with four goals.

Roseau also got points from Alex Halstensgard, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Alex Strand, who also tallied one goal and three assists to lead the team in points, Tanner Okeson, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Corey Olson, who also had one goal and two assists, and Brady Castle, who also registered one goal and one assist. Alex Ziegler also scored for Roseau. Other players who recorded assists for Roseau were Jack Helgeson, who had two and Ryan Anderson, Conner Millner, Dylan Mielke, Austin Hogenson, Zach Yon, and Jake Leverington, who each chipped in one.

Buffalo did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 14 shots on net to force 12 saves.

The Bison were helped by Cale Ehresmann, who finished with one goal. Ehresmann scored 6:25 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Buffalo. Jack Patnode provided the assist. Buffalo additionally got points from Patnode, who also tallied one goal and one assist. In addition, Buffalo received assists from Joe Hayes, who had one.

Roseau's Anderson stopped 12 shots out of the 14 that he faced. The Rams incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Tim Harkness rejected 34 shots on goal for Buffalo. The Bison incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
