Bemidji beats St. Cloud Tech 6-2 as Serratore gets hat trickBemidji High School Tue, Feb 19, 2013 Matt Serratore lifted the Bemidji Lumberjacks to a 6-2 victory with a hat trick against the St. Cloud Tech Tigers. Serratore's first goal came 7:16 into the first period. He then added goals at 9:02 into the second and at 13:15 into the third.The win gave Bemidji a 1-0 lead in the best of one series. The Lumberjacks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow St. Cloud Tech to score on any of its three power plays. Bemidji also got points from Garret Atteberry, who also tallied one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Bemidji also got a goal from Noah Burns as well. More assists for Bemidji came via Ben Christopher, Zach Sauer, Brett Isensee, and Parker Lucas, who each chipped in one. The Tigers were helped by Braden Altena, who registered one goal. Altena scored 4:46 into the first period to make the score 2-0 St. Cloud Tech. Justin Oberg assisted on the tally. Tanner Skaja also scored for St. Cloud Tech. In addition, St. Cloud Tech received assists from Joe Setrum, who had one. Bemidji's Gabe Heifort stopped 28 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Lumberjacks incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Austin Althaus rejected 19 shots on goal for St. Cloud Tech. The Tigers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. |
