Spicer's hat trick boosts Port Hope over Campbellford, 9-3

Jacob Spicer lifted the Port Hope Panthers to a 9-3 victory with a hat trick against the Campbellford Rebels.

Spicer's first goal came 2:19 into the first period. He then added goals at 9:07 into the first and at 1:35 into the second.

The win by Port Hope broke a deadlock and gave the Panthers a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series.

Port Hope pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 57 penalty minutes.

The Panthers made Rebels' goaltenders to work in net, finishing with 31 shots and forcing 22 saves. Cole Mahoney made 16 stops and Tyler Delpellaro made six. The defense for Port Hope tightened up when it had players in the penalty box, as it let in one goal on 11 Campbellford power plays.

Port Hope additionally got points from Brad Heykoop, who also had one goal and one assist, Dalton Lawrence, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, Ryan Hickey, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Nick Weiss, who also registered one goal and one assist. Port Hope also got a goal from Connor Lowry as well. Other players who recorded assists for Port Hope were Logan Arsenault, Josh Fagan, and Ryan Wilkinson, who contributed one a piece and Nick Clark, Josh Fulford, and Brandon Yorke, who each chipped in two.

The Panthers were unable to stop the Rebels from sending pucks towards the net, and Campbellford eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

The Rebels were helped by Hunter Fargey, who had one goal. Fargey scored on the power play 1:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Campbellford. Seamus McDougall assisted on the tally. Andrew Revell also scored for Campbellford. In addition, Campbellford received assists from Ryan Crowley, who had one.

Branson Schell rejected 33 shots on goal for Port Hope. The Panthers registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. For Port Hope, Heykoop and Calibe Oliver were ejected from the contest. Campbellford ended with 43 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. For the Rebels, Tyler McKown was ejected from the game.
