Nepean completes comeback, beats Kemptville, 5-4North Grenville Municipal 1 Tue, Mar 05, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Kemptville 73s could not hold down the Nepean Raiders, and Raiders erased a two-goal deficit en route to a 5-4 win. Nepean let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The Raiders took a 4-3 advantage on a goal by Mitchell Herlihey at 14:54 in the third period. Nepean found itself down 3-1 after Kemptville's Jaret Smith put the puck home on the power play at 8:36 in the third period. After evening things up at 4-4 on a goal by Mason Nowak at 15:40 in the third, the Raiders got the game-winner from Dalen Hedges at 16:24 in the third period. Nepean was paced by Hedges, who registered one goal. The Raiders forced the 73s goalie Jacob Tugnutt to work between the pipes, taking 47 shots. Nepean additionally got points from Kenneth Neil, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Herlihey, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Nepean also got a goal from Stephan Beauvais as well. More assists for Nepean came via Cory Durocher, who had two and Alexander Sifton, Tanner Williams, Brent Norris, and Steven Johnston, who each chipped in one. Nepean was unable to stop Kemptville from sending pucks towards the net, and the 73s eventually piled up 46 shots on goal. Junau St Germain also scored for Kemptville. In addition, Kemptville received assists from Antonio Roumeliotis, who had two and Cole Allard, Ben St Marseille, Jesse Blais, and Hayden Hanson, who contributed one a piece. Matt Zawadzki rejected 42 shots on goal for the Raiders. Nepean incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors and had no power play opportunities. Tugnutt recorded 42 saves for Kemptville. The 73s ended with no penalties and went 1-for-4 on the power play.
