Pilon leads Dunnville over Grimsby, 5-1

The Dunnville Jr. Mudcats' Ryan Pilon had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 5-1 win over the Grimsby Peach Kings.

Pilon found the back of the net on the power play 19:36 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Dunnville and again while 14:53 into the third to make the score 4-1 Dunnville.

With the win, Dunnville evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown.

The Jr. Mudcats were led by goalie Josh Rosettani, who finished with 25 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Rosettani will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.96.

Dunnville forced Grimsby goalie Jeremy Currie to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. The defensemen of the Jr. Mudcats were also effective in the Peach Kings' zone, and came away with two goals.

Others who scored for Dunnville included Brandon Schmalz, who had one and Austin Golding, who had two. In addition, Dunnville received assists from Troy Pieterse, who had two and Bret Golding, Joel Vanvliet, Ryan Turner, and Landon Minor, who each chipped in one.

Grimsby was led by Stuart Isnor, who scored the team's only goal. Isnor scored on the power play 6:59 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Dunnville. The Peach Kings had taken the advantage when Dunnville's Golding got sent off for hooking. Curtis Jacques provided the assist.

The Jr. Mudcats incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Grimsby's Currie stopped 28 shots out of the 33 that he faced. The Peach Kings incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For Grimsby, Colin Isnor and Jacques were ejected from the contest.
