Port Perry survives Little Britain comeback, wins 4-2Little Britain Sat, Feb 09, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Little Britain Merchants tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Port Perry Mojacks would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-2. Port Perry made the score 4-1 on a goal by Matt Paul at 2:50 in the third period, and Little Britain got as close as 4-2 when Mitch Berzins scored 10:40 into the third period. The win gave the Mojacks a 1-0 lead in the best of five series. Port Perry pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 22 penalty minutes. The Mojacks excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Port Perry was helped by Lucas Berkers, who finished with one goal. Berkers scored on the power play 19:22 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Port Perry. The Mojacks earned a power play opportunity when Cash Cormier was put in the box for boarding. Kyler Challis picked up the assist. Port Perry also got a goal from Kyle Schweda as well. In addition, Port Perry received assists from Joe Lamanna, Logan Evans, and Matt Murray, who contributed one a piece. Other players who recorded assists for Little Britain were Greg ONeil, who had one. Drew Siydock made 19 saves for Port Perry on 21 shots. The Mojacks registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Neil Pittock recorded 20 saves for the Merchants. Little Britain ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. For the Merchants, Cormier was ejected from the game.
