Port Hope downs Campbellford in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

Brad Heykoop gave the Port Hope Panthers a 5-4 (OT) victory over the Campbellford Rebels when he scored 50 seconds into the extra period.

Port Hope came back from a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Panthers trailed 3-0 after a power play goal by Campbellford's Mitch Gibson at 4:17 in the second period. Port Hope knotted things up at 4-4 on a goal by Seamus McDougall at 19:08 in the third period.

Heykoop had a great game for the Panthers, netting two goals.

Port Hope kept the Rebels' goalie busy throughout the game, and Cole Mahoney made 39 saves on 44 shots. The Panthers found themselves short handed often, totaling 24 penalty minutes and allowing six power plays.

Port Hope additionally got points from Josh Fulford, who also had one goal and one assist and Nick Weiss, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Port Hope also got a goal from Logan Arsenault as well. More assists for Port Hope came via Nick Clark, Dalton Lawrence, Ryan Wilkinson, and Brandon Yorke, who contributed one a piece.

Campbellford's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Port Hope power plays. Port Hope was unable to stop the Rebels from sending pucks towards the net, and Campbellford eventually piled up 41 shots on goal.

The Rebels were helped by Hunter Fargey, who registered one goal. Fargey scored 11:30 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Campbellford. McDougall provided the assist. Campbellford also got points from McDougall, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Tyler Daveys also scored for Campbellford. In addition, Campbellford received assists from Ryan Crowley, who had two and Nick Orton, Josh Adams, Mitch Burkitt, and Grant Fry, who each chipped in one.

The Panthers' Branson Schell stopped 37 shots out of the 41 that he faced. Campbellford incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
