Huge game by Schneider boosts Granite City over Twin City, 3-1

The Granite City Lumberjacks' Hunter Schneider had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 3-1 win over the Twin City Steel.

Schneider's tallies came on the power play at 5:43 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Granite City and 19:54 into the third to make the score 3-1 Granite City.

Twin City was stymied by Granite City netminder Scott Murray, who stopped 37 shots during the victory. Murray certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.29 entering the contest.

The Lumberjacks excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Granite City kept the Steel's goalie busy throughout the game, and Sawyer Marshall made 59 saves on 62 shots.

Granite City additionally got points from Aaron Storch, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. More assists for Granite City came via Blayne Ellson and Roy Grandov, who contributed one a piece.

Twin City could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Steel average 3.6 goals per game. Twin City forced the Lumberjacks goalie Murray to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.
