Nichols lifts Port Perry over Little Britain, 5-1

Ryan Nichols had two goals to lead the Port Perry Mojacks to a 5-1 victory over the Little Britain Merchants.

Nichols scored at 15:57 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Port Perry and again while 18:51 into the second to make the score 3-1 Port Perry.

The win by Port Perry clinched the best of five series at 3-1.

Team could not crack Little Britain's penalty kill and was held to one power play goal while having 13 opportunities to play with the man advantage. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Port Perry additionally got points from Logan Evans, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Lucas Berkers also scored for Port Perry. In addition, Port Perry received assists from Joe Lamanna, Kyler Challis, Matt Murray, Matt Paul, and Ryan Beattie, who each chipped in one.

The Merchants were led by stuart fierheller, who scored the team's only goal. Fierheller scored on the power play 5:58 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Port Perry. A slashing penalty on Murray had put Little Britain on the power play. Mark Vasey provided the assist.

Drew Siydock recorded 16 saves for the Mojacks. Port Perry incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Merchants' Neil Pittock stopped 19 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Little Britain totaled 31 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Team's Paul Hennessey and Greg ONeil were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
