Port Perry blows out Little Britain, 6-2

The Port Perry Mojacks had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-2 win over the Little Britain Merchants.

The win gave Port Perry a 1-0 lead in the best of five series.

Matt Paul had one goal and three assists to lead the Mojacks. Paul scored on the power play 8:56 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Port Perry had taken the advantage when Little Britain's Jesse Beers got sent off for interference. Kyler Challis assisted on the tally.

Port Perry also got points from Challis, who also had one goal and two assists and Matt Johnston, who also racked up two goals and one assist. Ryan Nichols also scored for Port Perry. More assists for Port Perry came via Lucas Berkers, who had one.

Little Britain also got a goal from Greg ONeil as well. In addition, Little Britain received assists from Chad Lindsay, Curtis Lee, and Rory McDowell, who each chipped in one.

The Mojacks' Drew Siydock stopped 16 shots out of the 18 that he faced. Port Perry totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 1-for-7 on the power play. The Mojacks ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Anders Neilsen was ejected from the game. Garrett Haden rejected 18 shots on goal for the Merchants. Little Britain incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
