Bismarck blows out Minot, 7-2VFW Sports Center Thu, Mar 14, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Bismarck Bobcats were firing on all cylinders against the Minot Minotauros, and when the final buzzer sounded Bobcats emerged with a 7-2 win. Evan Giesler had two goals to lead Bismarck to victory. Giesler's tallies came on the power play at 3:58 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bismarck and 14:37 into the first to make the score 3-0 Bismarck. Minot's 10 penalties came back to haunt it, as the Minotauros let up four goals while on the penalty kill. The Bobcats bested their season scoring average. This season, Bismarck averages 2.9 goals per contest. The Bobcats got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. With 56 shots on target during the contest, Bismarck exceeded the 26.4 shots it averages per game this year. Bismarck also got points from Chris Diver, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Nate Repensky, who also finished with one goal and three assists to lead the team in points, and Matt Anders, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Bismarck also got a goal from Stanislav Dzakhov as well. More assists for Bismarck came via Joe Giordano, who had three and Jeremy OKeefe, Adam Knochenmus, and Filip Starzynski, who contributed two a piece. Minot could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 20 minutes in penalties during the game. The Minotauros were helped by Matt Audette, who tallied one goal. Audette scored on the power play 2:35 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Bismarck. A cross checking penalty on Dzakhov had put Minot on the power play. David Dalbec provided the assist. Minot additionally got points from Denis Dalidovich, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Minot received assists from Jake McCann and Jake OBorsky, who each chipped in one. Aaron Nelson rejected 19 shots on goal for the Bobcats. Bismarck incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Tyler Parks took the loss and made 39 saves before being replaced by Ryan Ruck who made 10 saves. The Minotauros registered one goal on two power play opportunities.
