Penetang downs Erin, 6-1

Nick Arcan finished with two points to lead the Penetang Kings to a 6-1 victory over the Erin Shamrocks.

The win gave Penetang a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Kings' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Erin power plays. Penetang forced Erin goalie Tom Denstedt to work between the pipes, taking 51 shots.

Penetang additionally got points from Sammy Gagnon, who also had one goal and one assist and Matt Fischer, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Penetang also got a goal from Myles York as well. Other players who recorded assists for Penetang were Hayden Cole, Nigel Labatte, Graham Haley APM, Brandon Frandsen, Austin Fischer, and Jesse Moreau, who each chipped in one.

The Shamrocks were led by David Neil, who scored the team's only goal. Neil scored 6:50 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Penetang. Tyler Kent assisted on the tally.

The Kings' Adam Redgate stopped 22 shots out of the 23 that he faced. Penetang incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Tom Denstedt made 45 saves for Erin on 51 shots. The Shamrocks incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
