Indiana Jr. Ice 16U survives penalties, beats St. Louis Selects 16U, 2-1

Despite having to fight off several power plays, Indiana Jr. Ice 16U was able to defeat St. Louis Selects 16U, 2-1.

Indiana Jr. Ice 16U was sparked by Ryan Jones, who tallied one goal. Jones scored 9:21 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Indiana Jr. Ice 16U. Christian French provided the assist.

Indiana Jr. Ice 16U put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow St. Louis Selects 16U to score on any of its six power plays. Indiana Jr. Ice 16U could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game.

George Pippen also scored for Indiana Jr. Ice 16U. In addition, Indiana Jr. Ice 16U received assists from Triston Theriot, Ryan MacKellar, and Sam Markwood, who each chipped in one.

St. Louis Selects 16U was led by Ryan Derousse, who scored the team's only goal. Derousse scored 12:20 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Austin Rueschhoff picked up the assist.

Indiana Jr. Ice 16U's starting goalie, Darin Fox, made 11 saves and finished with the win before he was taken out in favor of Adam Conkling, who stopped 14 shots. Indiana Jr. Ice 16U registered one goal on three power play opportunities. St. Louis Selects 16U's Zach Young stopped 20 shots out of the 22 that he faced. St. Louis Selects 16U incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
