Omaha AAA 18U uses fast start to beat West Michigan Hounds 18U, 7-4

Omaha AAA 18U opened up a four-goal lead after the first period and did not look back en route to a 7-4 over West Michigan Hounds 18U.

Omaha AAA 18U got the win behind a great game by Ondrej Valo, who had two goals and two assists. Valo scored the first of his two goals at 13:49 into the first period to make the score 4-0 Omaha AAA 18U. Rodmon Nikrovan provided the assist. Valo's next tally made the score 7-3 Omaha AAA 18U with 15:35 left in the third period. Parker Grass picked up the assist.

Omaha AAA 18U's goal total was higher than its season average. Omaha AAA 18U averages 3.7 goals per game. Omaha AAA 18U got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Omaha AAA 18U struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 18 penalty minutes for eight opposing power plays.

Omaha AAA 18U also got points from Nikrovan, who also had one goal and one assist and Ryan Cagnoni, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Omaha AAA 18U also got a goal from Ryan Fretwell as well.

Regan Ward also scored for West Michigan Hounds 18U. More assists for West Michigan Hounds 18U came via Carter Reid, who had three and Caleb Breithaupt and Christian Howard, who each chipped in one.

Shaun Healy recorded 20 saves for Omaha AAA 18U. Omaha AAA 18U registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Philip Kuznetsov made six saves before being replaced by Nick Light, who took the loss and made 15 saves. West Michigan Hounds 18U incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
