California Titans 16U vanquishes Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U in shootout, 4-3

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as California Titans 16U defeated Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U in a shootout 4-3.

The shootout lasted for eight attempts between the teams. California Titans 16U also got a shootout goal from Brendan Harris.

California Titans 16U saw a two-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. California Titans 16U made the score 3-1 on a goal by Jacob Hamacher at 9:53 in the third period. Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U evened things up at 3-3 on a goal by Riley Hummitsch at 13:22 in the third period.

Team could not crack Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U's penalty kill and was held to two power play goals while having 10 opportunities to play with the man advantage.

California Titans 16U also got points from Ethan Somoza, who also had one goal and one assist. California Titans 16U also got a goal from Danny ODonnell as well. Other players who recorded assists for California Titans 16U were Will-Robert Johnson, who had one and Harris, who had three.

Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up eight minors and one major for 31 minutes in penalty time. Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U surpassed its season average of 16.0 penalty minutes per game. Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U kept California Titans 16U's goalie busy throughout the game, and Patrik Jokela made 29 saves on 32 shots.

Connor Reed also scored for Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U. In addition, Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U received assists from Jeffrey Sanguedolce, who had one.

California Titans 16U incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Garrett Mello recorded 22 saves for Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U. Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Sanguedolce was ejected from the game.
