Thamesford holds on for 3-2 win against Exeter

The Exeter Hawks tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Thamesford Trojans held on for a 3-2 victory.

A goal by Adam Levine put Thamesford up 3-1 in the second period, but Exeter pulled to within one on Cam Jude's tally 15:58 into the third period.

After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, the Hawks face elimination next time out.

The Trojans' penalty kill excelled, as Thamesford gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

The Trojans kept Exeter's goalie busy throughout the game, and Colton James made 36 saves on 39 shots.

Thamesford also got a goal from Alex Clemens as well. More assists for Thamesford came via James Toye, Dylan Black, Jeremy Denomme, Andrew McLennan, Paul Grasby, and Justin Cooper, who each chipped in one.

The Hawks stifled Thamesford's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Exeter forced the Trojans goalie Tynan Lauziere to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots.

Wesley McGovern also scored for Exeter. In addition, Exeter received assists from Mitch Wild, Chris Chapman, and John Kingma, who contributed one a piece.

Tynan Lauziere made 39 saves for Thamesford on 41 shots. The Trojans incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Hawks incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
