McPhail nets hat trick, leads Melbourne Ice to 4-1 win over North Star SirensPenrith Palace Sun, Feb 24, 2013 Fances McPhail netted a hat trick to lead Melbourne Ice over North Star Sirens, 4-1. McPhail got on the scoresheet 8:48 into the first period. He then added goals at 3:07 into the second and at 12:32 into the second.Melbourne Ice's Courtney Rea was a brick wall in net, as she came up with 26 saves and let only one puck past him. Despite the solid performance, Rea will actually see her goals against average rise, as it stood at 0.78 entering the contest. Melbourne Ice's offense rang up 44 shots on North Star Sirens' net. Melbourne Ice also got a goal from Georgia Carson as well. In addition, Melbourne Ice received assists from Georgia Giblin, who had one and Rylie Padjen, who had two. North Star Sirens put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Melbourne Ice to score on any of its four power plays. North Star Sirens' offense was clicking better than usual and put 27 shots on goal during the game, better than the 2.6 shots per game it averages. Melbourne Ice incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Sera Dogramaci recorded 40 saves for North Star Sirens. North Star Sirens incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
