International Falls takes care of Ely/Northeast Range early, wins 17-0

The International Falls Broncos jumped out to a six-point advantage by the end of the first period and beat the Ely/Northeast Range Timberwolves, 17-0.

Erik Lassila was all over the ice for International Falls, as he tallied four goals and two assists in the win. Lassila got on the scoresheet 3:41 into the first period. He then added goals at 7:20 into the first, at 2:41 into the second, and at 3:00 into the third.

The Broncos forced Ely/Northeast Range goalie Kael Richards to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots. International Falls bested its season scoring average. The Broncos have scored at the pace of 4.3 goals per game during the current campaign.

International Falls additionally got points from Kyler Schneider, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Jackson Vollom, who also registered two goals and two assists, Lucas Debenedet, who also tallied one goal and four assists, Austin Geiselhart, who also racked up two goals and one assist, Luke Spilde, who also had one goal and two assists, and Jordan Tilander, who also registered two goals and one assist. Others who scored for International Falls included Jakob Ettestad, who had two and Tyler Richards and Jack Mellstrom, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for International Falls were Evan Holenko, who had one and Alex Kennedy, Jakob Eide, and Nick Anderson, who each chipped in two.

The Timberwolves' offense operated below they season average. Ely/Northeast Range puts an average of 2.4 pucks into the net per game. The Timberwolves did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting six shots on net to force six saves.

International Falls' Wyatt Ulrich stopped six shots out of the six that he faced. The Broncos finished the contest with no penalties and went 3-for-0 with the man advantage. Richards rejected 31 shots on goal for Ely/Northeast Range. The Timberwolves avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of zero power plays.
