The Brainerd Warriors' Jacob Ellingson scored 3:43 into overtime to beat Bismarck, ND, 4-3 (OT).

Ellingson had a great game for Brainerd, netting two goals.

The Warriors kept Bismarck, ND's goalie busy throughout the game, and Brett Malkmus made 27 saves on 31 shots. Brainerd's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Christopher Pohlkamp also scored for Brainerd. Other players who recorded assists for Brainerd were Billy Desrocher, who had one and Logan Rivard and Griffin Campbell, who contributed two a piece.

Bismarck, ND did not rack up many penalties in the contest, finishing with only one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

Bismarck, ND was led by Jared Spooner, who tallied two goals. Spooner scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 7:40 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Bismarck, ND had gained a power play chance when Ellingson was whistled for tripping. Cullen Irey picked up the assist. Spooner's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Bismarck, ND with 3:34 left in the second period. Cooper Cox provided the assist. Bismarck, ND also got a goal from Brandon Giezler as well. In addition, Bismarck, ND received assists from Johnny Witske, who had one.

Captain Kyle Helmberger recorded 23 saves for the Warriors. Brainerd incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Bismarck, ND registered one goal on three power play opportunities.
